Italy: sanctions and trade risk
As of 7 November 2026, the screened UN, EU, UK, Swiss and US sanctions lists contain 24 companies, organisations, vessels and aircraft linked to Italy.Lists last checked .
Logistics profile: ports, airports, customs, documents, holidays, news ↓
No elevated country indicator for Italy in the route rules Sanctioni uses. That is not a clearance: goods may still be export-controlled, and parties in Italy may still be on a list.
On the sanctions lists
24 entries on the official lists name Italy — as nationality, address, registration or flag. That links them to the country; it says nothing about other companies there. The same company can appear on several lists and is then counted once per list. Individuals are not included — Sanctioni does not process them.

Italy: logistics and trade
Mediterranean hub, industrial and transit country
Italy (IT) is one of the EU's largest economies and a central Mediterranean hub for traffic between Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. As a member of the EU customs union and the eurozone, Italy handles customs procedures electronically through the AIDA 2.0 system of the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM); the standard import VAT (IVA) rate is 22 percent, with reduced rates of 10, 5 and 4 percent. Its key gateways are the transshipment port of Gioia Tauro plus Genoa, La Spezia, Trieste, Livorno, Naples and Venice; in air freight Milan Malpensa (MXP) leads ahead of Rome Fiumicino (FCO). By road and rail, the TEN-T corridors Rhine-Alpine (Genoa-Rotterdam), Scandinavian-Mediterranean (Brenner) and Baltic-Adriatic (Trieste) connect the country to central Europe. Typical goods include machinery, vehicles and automotive parts, pharmaceuticals, fashion and furniture; the main trading partners are Germany, France, the United States, Spain and China.
