What Sanctioni is
Sanctioni is a free, preliminary screening and documentation aid. It compares the information you enter with official sanctions lists and with indicators for countries, routes and goods, and explains the result.
What it is not
- Not legal advice or a legal opinion.
- Not a compliance clearance or an approval of any transaction.
- Not an export licence and not an export-control classification of goods.
- Not a determination of ownership, control or end use.
A result without an indicator only means that nothing was found in the checks listed with that result. The official publication of the competent authority always prevails. The decision on any transaction, and the responsibility for it, remain with you; where it matters, consult a qualified adviser or the authority.
Data and accuracy
We fetch the official lists every six hours and validate them before use, but we cannot guarantee that every list is complete, current or free of errors at all times, nor that every match or non-match is correct. Name matching works with similarity scores, which are signals for a human to review, not legal conclusions. Country, route and goods indicators are a curated, simplified view of published sanctions programmes.
Fair use
The check is free, including for business use: you may screen individual shipments and counterparties by hand as part of your work. Automated or bulk querying of the check, attempts to circumvent the limits per visitor, and any use that impairs the service are not allowed; we may limit or block access where this happens.
Reusing our feeds and pages
To the extent Sanctioni holds rights in its original editorial content or presentation, you may reuse that material with attribution to Sanctioni. Official source material remains subject to the applicable source terms and attribution requirements (see data sources). No additional rights are claimed over public-domain material. This permission does not waive data-protection obligations or third-party rights.
Liability
The service is provided free of charge and “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, xbx gmbh excludes liability for damages arising from the use of Sanctioni or from relying on its results; liability for intent and gross negligence remains as provided by mandatory law.
Changes
We may change the service and these terms. Changed terms apply only to checks run after they are published, with a new version number and date; they do not change what applied to earlier checks.
Law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies, subject to mandatory provisions of the law of your country that cannot be excluded by agreement. Place of jurisdiction is the registered office of xbx gmbh, subject to mandatory places of jurisdiction, in particular for consumers.
