No elevated country indicator for Tajikistan in the route rules Sanctioni uses. That is not a clearance: goods may still be export-controlled, and parties in Tajikistan may still be on a list.

On the sanctions lists

5 entries on the official lists name Tajikistan — as nationality, address, registration or flag. That links them to the country; it says nothing about other companies there. The same company can appear on several lists and is then counted once per list. Individuals are not included — Sanctioni does not process them.

Tajikistan: logistics and trade

Central Asian transit and commodity country (aluminium, hydropower); mountainous landlocked country without sea access

Tajikistan (ISO code: TJ) is a landlocked country in Central Asia, bordering Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. It is a presidential republic with a centralised government. The climate ranges from continental to alpine, with cold winters, hot summers and large regional differences in precipitation; the mountain regions are markedly colder. The economy rests on agriculture, mining, energy production and services, with aluminium, cotton and hydropower being internationally significant. Exports are dominated by aluminium, cotton and electricity, while the country depends heavily on imports of machinery, consumer goods and food. Logistically, Tajikistan relies on road and rail networks, airports and transit corridors that mainly secure regional trade within Central Asia. The national currency is the Tajikistani somoni (TJS). Strategic investment focuses on infrastructure, transport, energy and logistics projects to raise competitiveness and strengthen integration into regional and global supply chains.

Logistics questions

Which import tax (VAT) applies in Tajikistan?

The standard rate is 14 percent for non-cash transactions (2024-2026) and 15 percent for cash payments; from 2027 it falls to 13 percent. A reduced rate of 10 percent applies to basic goods such as food and medicines. The tax base is the CIF value plus customs duty.
